ABOUT

Some may recognize my name from the work I did with the death metal band Nile, or the extreme metal band Lecherous Nocturne, for those that do hats off to your memory as that was a hundred thousand years ago and hardly relevant to what I’m doing musically today. For those that don’t know of that era of those bands there’s hardly reason to enlighten you on ancient history that has no bearing whatsoever on the music I’m most proud of and excited about which is what I’m working on now!
To be 100% transparent I only mention the aforementioned names to get the elephant in the room deflated so I can get to the point and I would be perfectly happy if we never bring up either of those bands again, like previously mentioned it does nothing to further the music I feel so thankful to be creating today so why waste time? I certainly have no need as I murdered any possibility of anything resembling the god forsaken ego of overinflated musician many many years ago so with that said, today I’m happy to say after deep personal journey and venturing to the edges of creation I’ve finally and by the grace of the gods of musical composition have found my style as an artist. The album I’m currently in the pre production phase of is the culmination of a lifetime of searching not only the earth but the cavernous depths of self to find what my purpose was, and why I’ve felt this unending calling to keep the guitar in my hands and continue honing in the craft of my songwriting skills.
The road has been anything but paved and the dead ends have been innumerable, but proudly I say this here today after over three decades of sacrifice, actual blood and a humiliating amount of tears, I finally know what I, and my musical soul sound like, and it’s something I can only speak on from a position of immense gratitude and joy.
If I have to put it into the description of genres which I know is something any interested musician worth their weight in sand will require, the best I can do is say it’s an ambient progressive modern metal that has a very strong attachment to the love of dynamics and the beauty that is tension and release.
I’ve been known in the past for death and extreme metal, and while I will forever have a deep appreciation and love for those styles of music, and while I think they will always be a part of my musical DNA the music I write now isn’t either of those genres, although it would still fit into a death metal tour package as the avante garde sibling of said package, I have seen the fans of black, death, and extreme metal music enjoy this music and the direction I’m taking it as much as I’ve seen the fans of bands like Tool, Les Friction, and APC enjoy it which was never the point I want to say it’s just been an observation and an added bonus that so far it’s been capable of smearing genre boundary lines that exist for good reason.
I want to be clear, I’m not writing music that dabbles in a little of this and some of that hoping to please everyone as the jack of all master of none.
I’m not writing to please anyone, I’m just grateful that the few I’ve shown the tracks to thus far have received it well, that is a great blessing and honor to me but it would be dishonest if I tried to explain what I’m doing as a project designed in hopes to sell a million records and stroke high level industry egos.
I’m an artist in every definition of the word and my music reflects that, the only fu*ks I give about industry anything is playing the game enough to do enough business to allow the continued growth and expansion of the music. I don’t play for money but it’s not my first year either and only guys that have never made money through their music talk about selling out, you have to generate capitol no matter what you do, if you eat sleep sh*t breathe attempt to fu*k music like I do then in order to continue playing music on the obsessive level I prefer it only makes logical sense you need that music to work on a professional level that allows you to one day pay your rent and eat atleast one to two meals a day, that doesn’t make you a sell out or a poser that makes you a responsible individual that has an actual functioning brain in your dome piece instead of a monkey fu*king a football like many I’ve had the pleasure of conversing with over the years.
Im currently approaching the last phase of pre production for my projects first album, I have a drummer that I can put against anyone on the planet and feel utter confidence about, he’s a grade A top shelf bad mother fu*ker that has the talent of a legend and carriers himself with the humility of a student. So far it’s been me writing everything and since the drummer which for now I will leave nameless for reasons of professional respect, since he tours full time with another band of who I shall also leave nameless because you will definitely know it, the plan is in a month or so from now he will enter the studio and track his parts for the album I’ve written, there will be some collaboration between him and I but considering the specifics of the scenario it will be relying on his musical instinct and the guide tracks I’ve written as a basic foundation for musical direction , thrn I will take his finished work and enter the studio to begin laying guitars, bass, vocals, and all the samples and synths and all the other sh*t that needs to be tracked to bring the songs to life, what I’m looking for is musicians, real artists that not only bring something unique to the table and have talent but also have character and aren’t fkn elitist douchebags. I got my fill of that sort of friends of fair weather and convenience in my previous jobs working on the international circuit so by all means if you feel you are better than anyone because you can shred at 280bpm and all that, feel free to fu*k off and eat a bag of fu*k because I don’t want to hear from you, however, if your an artist that needs to create music that resonates with your heart of hearts and the deepest chasm of your soul as much as you need to breathe air, I don’t care if your a bassist a guitarist or a vocalist or you plays keys, get in Touch Id be honored to meet you and would very much enjoy seeing if our musical journeys align in a way that makes sense to nurture.
Thanks to the one or two who cared enough to read to this point.
Cheers and I look forward to sharing this wonderful gift of music with you who have the evolved senses enough to appreciate it and how fortunate we are as a species capable of understanding something so advanced yet so ancient at the same time.
