ABOUT

I am a bass player who dabbles on guitar, keyboards, fretless electric, and drums; Took guitar lessons when I was age 10; been playing bass in bands since age 15. I would like to create some original music, instrumental or lyrical, with some other very-capable musicians, preferably in the Sunbury, Ohio area. My strong point is melodic composition, and I have tape-fulls, most in the rock genre, so someone with prolific lyric-writing skills, but perhaps not so good at composition, would be a good match. I also have quite a bit of recording experience and a small home studio with an isolated control room.

Extra: The song below "Illusions" is about the closest thing to metal I have ever come up with, so a bit atypical, Rick, the singer, is really more of a country vocalist, but wanted to add some lyrics to it, so . . .

Influences

Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Mars Cowling, John Entwistle, Craig Gruber etc.in regards to bass players. Musically speaking, the list is vast, but have a special affinity perhaps for Tom Cochrane's solo stuff. Also like Rob Thomas's second solo album, Cradlesong (experimentation, good songs, and sounds great). Not much into modern metal, but I did learn a couple Breaking Benjamin tunes lately. Like that new track from Dirty Honey "Won't Take Me Alive" (good old-fashioned riff-based rock) Band seems to have a penchant for violent videos, though.
