Hi loves! I’m looking to join a band as a lead or backup vocalist. My aim is to do ~12 gigs/year.
A little more about my singing background:
I’ve been a singer my whole life! I consider it my purpose in this life — I am constantly singing everywhere I go.
My beginnings in music:
In my early years, I grew up listening to my older siblings and cousins sing in tight knit harmonies with each other and learned how to do the skill as I grew older.
Choir experience:
At school, I started choir in 5th grade and went up until my senior year of college. I have many old school newspapers stating that I was practically choir kid of the semester/year for that entire time too! In my junior and senior years of high school, I was selected to join All State Choir in Maryland, which is an extraordinarily difficult venture, learning and performing 10 rhythmically and melodically complicated pieces at the end of the semester. Nowadays, I am part of a community choir that performs each semester.
Performance experience:
I have experience singing and playing guitar for weekly church gigs when I was a teenager and also playing dobro and singing in a Bluegrass band my freshman and sophomore years of high school.
Songwriting experience:
Since 5th grade, I’ve also been writing my own songs. I have a few in the works currently but don’t have great technical experience in terms of using complicated recording equipment to record my songs, so I just use GarageBand on my phone currently.
Right now, I only play ukulele, piano and guitar as accompaniment to my singing. I’m not very serious or good regarding my instrument skills. My preference is to focus on my singing and get the accompaniment via a band to back me up :)
I’d like to think I have a diverse set of styles musically and aesthetically. I tend toward indie, slow music, but could also see myself singing punk/rock.
