We use melody lead sheets with chord names above the staves. Must have reading skills, improv skills not required.

Seeking low brass/trombone, tenor & bari sax, upright bass. Accordian might also fit in. Currently have trumpet, percussion, occasional tenor sax, and backing tracks which we will drop when we get some low brass, bass or rhythm players.

We play and develop a growing set of jazz standards, bossa nova, swing, blues, big band and traditional songs. All instrumentals at this time, no vocals.

Monthly sessions at public covered outdoor locations such as New Bern Union Pt Park gazebo, Neuse Harbour pavilion (private property park), depending on weather. Can secure daytime coffeehouse gigs in New Bern and Beaufort- Sunday through Friday only - No Friday evenings or Saturdays.

This is a live acoustic project, but light amplification ok for indoor gigs and when not on City of New Bern public property.

No amplification or PA's for our outdoor music flash-mob events, because New Bern city ordinance prohibits amplification unless permit, insurance, and 60-day notice given, and giant fees. No thanks, that is not happening.
