I'm a guitarist/lead singer in a part-time, three-piece cover band based in the Annapolis MD area. We want to add a lead singer with experience and an easy-going attitude.
Above all, we believe a band should be an enjoyable and satisfying use of everyone's time. We have a great time and enjoy getting together to play music, drink a few beers, relax, and enjoy the experience and camaraderie. None of us are looking to be rock stars, but we aspire to be good at what we do and offer an interesting play list that people and club owners both will enjoy.
None of us have egos, but we are all competent on our instruments. We are looking for this same type of person in a lead vocalist. If you play another instrument such as acoustic/electric guitar or keyboards, this will be a definite bonus as far as we are concerned.
As for material, we believe there is a lot of potential in this area for drawing upon a variety of different flavors of popular rock music from '70s, '80s, '90s, and current modern rock. We want to avoid trying to educate audiences with obscure or self-indulgent material. We want to play a broad selection of rock songs that are enjoyable to listen and/or dance to, and that will have the bar/club owners asking us to come back. Some of the bands we cover are: Barenaked Ladies, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Sheryl Crow, Pearl Jam, Black Crows, U2, The Cure, REM, The Cars, Steve Miller, Fleetwood Mac, etc.
I have full rehearsal PA, a complete -- and really nice -- gig PA, and rehearsal space in the Annapolis, MD area.
I'm also in the final stages of putting together a digital recording setup. We'd like to use this setup for recording rehearsals, and if the creative synergy is there, as a foundation for developing some original material, though we're not focusing on that, as far as playing out live goes.
Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Beatles, REM, The Cure
It changes so much, I'll probably be using different gear by the time you read this; but, here goes anyway:
Amplifier- Tone King Meteor II 40A
Guitar- Don Grosh Retro Classic
Effects- Barber Burn Unit EQ, Maxxon analog delay
