ABOUT

Howdy gang. To be fair, let me put the basics down for you. I'm an old guy. Years ago, I was in bands, rolling jam gatherings and now resigned to play my unusual brand of mancave guitareoke. Decades ago, I started out on bass, moved to guitar and was doing awesome, if I do say so. But then I injured my left hand. Still have all my fingers, but there was nerve damage. What did that mean for me? Well, let's just say that the connection from brain to fingers 'Glitch'. The glitch is...Every note I 'want' to play becomes a fork in the road between the note I want and the one I have to settle for. So, to compensate, I cheat...to bend and wiggle notes or spend more time on s single string or two...to stay in the key. I had to retrain myself to play. Bass strings were too heavy so I stuck with 6 string electrics. Since I can't chord like I used to, I tune all my guitars in 4ths from D to E-flat. So, what do I play? I lay down whatever I can make fit in a tune. Like a melodic bass player but on a conventional 6-string electric. It's been like this since the 80's so I found my groove to fit my handicap. I was always invited to sit with all kinds of folks, playing all kinds of music. rock, pop, blues, country, yatta yatta. I like my sound to be clean/sharp, but mostly noisey. I play through a BOSS GT-100, through monitors and my playlist through my computer and the only amps I have left are a Simmons 200w drum amp (you'd be surprised how that sounds) or a 15W Crate. Why did I put all this out there? Because I'm being honest. I can play and I am not a guitar snob. Open minded folks like me and snobs don't bother with me. I don't lead...I add things that fit.
I play 'along with'. But folks need to know what they are getting with me. Thankfully there's a block here for my Influences, Holy sh*t, that's another mouthful. For what it's worth, there it is.

EQUIPMENT

200W Simmons drum amp, 15W Crate, BOSS GT-1100 and the odd Missing Link Audio pedal. 9 or so misfit guitars. Squire Contemporary Strat, Thinline Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Fender Vista Venus, Epiphone, Wildkat Royale, Firebird VI, Yamaha Pacifica, Brian May, Fernandez Dragonfly. I have some modification skills, so several have pickup and hardware mods.
