THE BAD SELVES are an all-original Rock band from Chandler, AZ, USA.

We need a creative lead guitarist who can flesh out songs, provide solos, and do their cool thing. This is your opportunity to create your own sound in context of the songs; just make it original and fitting to the song, and have fun with it. We lost our lead guitarist unexpectedly, and now want you to get in here with us and have some good, creative fun.

We don't want a jack-of-all-trades, another songwriter, a producer, or some other role; we need a mature, experienced, highly-creative, fun person who is a lead guitarist. If you can sing a second, backing harmony, that could be a big plus.

We compose and play all original songs, record them, and release them online to major streaming sites. The music is electric and acoustic rock with rock 'n roll, blues, classic, acoustic, alternative, pop, punk, funk, and other influences. We don't try to emulate any specific artist, band, decade, or genre. Whatever it takes, it is what it is.

We've released our first, 10-song album, WON, and it's currently streaming on Apple, Spotify, You Tube, Amazon, Google, iHeart Radio, Deezer, Napster, Tidal, etc.. We are currently in rehearsal for our second 10-song album, TOO, and songs are very nearly done - being rehearsed for refinements and tightness. Plan is to record ASAP with our friends at S.E.R. Studios in Chandler, AZ; release ASAP in 2024; seek a few local gigs on weekends, submit entries for nearby festival opportunities; and, meanwhile, move on to preparing for the third album, TREE - which is already well underway - to record and release ASAP. 10 songs are already mostly written for FO. FINE is being deFINEd down in The Bad Cave - and it won't be long before it flies out.

Deal is, any money that's made is split equally, period. Songwriter owns his songs, period. Songs are published independently through songwriter's publishing label, That's a Way Cool Song, Dude / TAWCSD. Your role is to create on the guitar, and add your creative voice to the mix; the songwriter pays for recording, release, distribution, etc.. BYO equipment. No other promises or guarantees. As much as this is fun for us - and it is - we are serious about doing the music and releasing it.

We've got more than enough equipment to rehearse, perform live, and get busy in the studio. We prefer to record in a professional studio environment - i.e., record, mix, and master - using a budgeted project plan on a tight schedule with an experienced engineer and co-producer.

Rehearsal 1x per week - usually, on Tue or Thu, 630/700 - 900/930 PM - with mixer and headphones. Bring your own headphones, mic, mic stand, music stand, cables, and floor device or amp with an output to line into the mixer.

Recommend that you reside within 20-30 minutes of Queen Creek and Higley intersection.
