ABOUT

Hi there! I'm Ali Simmel, and I've had the pleasure of fronting several bands over the years, including a versatile cover band called that tackled everything from classic rock to contemporary hits. I am a diverse singer and overall love belting out tunes, whether it be by male legends adding my own twist with powerful female vocals or female-driven anthems. Aside from cover bands, I've fronted a few original rock bands where my belting was the focus, and I performed solo or with accompaniment as a singer-songwriter. I grew up singing country western music and participating in local small-town singing competitions. I released my first album of original songs in 2020 and plan on starting another this year. Despite juggling a busy family and work life, I'm itching to get back on stage. I'm looking for something casual but established to join.

Influences

Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Kelly Clarkson, and JoJo were early childhood influences. As I got older, it was Evanescence, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, and Gretchen Wilson. Bob Dylan, Tori Amos, Alanis Morisette, Mariah Carey, The Cranberries, Tool, and The Counting Crows influenced my late teens and early adult years. Today, I continue to pull from all of these influences that shaped who I am as a singer-songwriter, though I listen to so much more variety now.
