Andrew Smith an up and coming gifted musician who is quickly becoming recognized for his near limitless abilities on the trumpet and the fresh, physical appeal he brings to stages all over the country and beyond.
The beginning came for him when he heard the sweet sound of music being made by his mother from a very early age. He soon found the trumpet, and his notes soared into achievements early on that he never could have dreamed of. By the end of his high school career he was already becoming well known as a “talent to be noticed” in his local town of Phoenix, Arizona. After performing as lead trumpet for the National Grammy High School Jazz Ensemble at the 2002 Grammy Awards, Andrew went on to the University of Arizona, which he called his home for three years. During that time, he was a sought after commercial musician and teacher in the Tucson area, especially for his sight reading and endless upper register capabilities.
In 2005, after achieving more than he ever imagined on the trumpet, he accomplished a dream of his to play in the hit Broadway show “Blast!” as their jazz trumpet soloist. This propelled Andrew into a new chapter of his career that would bring him worldwide recognition, and exciting musical discoveries.
Since Blast!, Andrew has become an international performer with various notable performers and acts including Kirk Whalem, Wayne Bergeron, Kurt Elling, Dave Koz, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Vincent DiMartino, Rick baptist, and Bob Florence. He is currently excited to be pursuing new and progressive projects, lending an innovative style that captures jazz and electronic music in an image all his own...
