My name is Asher, and I’m a composer, songwriter, and performer. I began playing cello and guitar in 2008, and began singing and songwriting in 2014. I gigged regularly throughout high school, and fronted a band where I played my songs.

In 2016, I began studying cello and composition in college, and graduated with a degree in composition. I do commissions as a composer, and my work was included on a Grammy-nominated album in 2021.

Influences

I have a deep background in classical music as well as non-classical songwriting. My interest in classical and avant-garde music has led to a love of experimentation. With this said, I am also influenced by tons of other genres: pop, dance, funk, rock, metal, etc. etc.
