Yo, I have been playing for around 6 years now, that is, the drumset as my primary instrument, although I do know some guitar. I would say for my age I'm pretty confident in my playing, but of course we can all improve. I have never been in a band, but I do know what it's like to play shows as I was in my 8th grade jazz band. My cousin and I used play together all the time in the garage and he was and still is a great guitarist, but unfortunately we stopped playing. I don't know why, I guess he just got over it, but I'm not done playing drums, it has been there since I was 8 and I know it's what I want to do for a living!

Influences
I listen to mostly rock-based music, me being a drummer I look for intricate, well together put drum parts that get my attention, and then I listen to the rest. I recently got into progressive bands such as: Rush, Dream Theater, An Endless Sporadic, Animals As Leaders, Chon, to name a few. Alternative rock is what i grew up listening to because i'm the youngest in my family and that's what my siblings listened to, so I like bands such as: 311, Incubus, Muse, Foo Fighters, and many more. I also am into classic rock bands with great guitar parts like: The Allman Brothers Band, Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey, Kansas, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steely Dan, and a few others. I pretty much listen to anything which I consider worth listening to, they either have great drums, guitar, bass, or just well put musical ideas, or all of the above which make the best kinds of bands.
EQUIPMENT
I have a Groove Percussion three piece set, not the most costly set, but the drumset doesn't make the drummer. I also have some cymbals bought outside of the set: A Zildjian Crash, A Zildjian ZHT Ride, and a 8" Sabian splash. And I bought a black pearl piccolo snare.
