My friend and I have been in several bands over the past 15 years or so, and the most recent couple have had some recognition at a somewhat regional level as well as internationally. The loved us in England and Portugal...go figure! We have had some minor record deal talks with indie labels and such, but now we have to start from scratch for the most part. Maybe I'll get to tell you the whole long story some time...
Anyway, that being said- My friend Matt is a nasty drummer and a very good bass player. He can sing very well when needed, too. He wants to play bass, but not unless we find a drummer that is at least as good as him. This means we either need a great drummer or bass player. We won't really know until we start really getting into the auditions to see what we are going to be working with.
As for me... I play guitar. I'm strong at both lead and rhythm. I can sing. I can play bass and drums as well. I pl ay lots of other instruments, but not for this project. At first, we were gonna just do a 3-piece thing. That means I would be playing and singing. It worked, but I felt like I was limiting myself by writing around being able to sing and play at the same time. Also, I can write for two guitar parts and make a thick blanket of sound that will implode your skull when we do the heavy stuff. It also makes for some really trippy sounscapes too.
We have been hiding out in my basement studio just practicing, writing, and recording some of what may make the cut for this band we are putting together. Some of it can be heard at
www.myspace.com/projectisolation Some of it is just messing around with randomness, of course none of it was meant to be a pro recording or performance... that will come when it goes to a REAL studio. Then it will be flawless!
Other projects we have been in would be worth checking out: (to see some of what we can do)

Well anyway...
I would like to get a killer vocalist with stage presence and energy to get a crowd all rowdie and into it. We are also looking to audition Bass, Drums, and 2nd GTR... possible keyboards for extra trippy sounds. (Ala Hawkwind)
Must have a somewhat flexible schedule, transportation, and the will to make it all happen. We are looking for something long term, provided things work out the way we hope.
We practice during the day on Wednesdays at my house in Springfield. We have a PA system, recording equipment, drums, bass amp, lots of guitar amps, and tons of awesome assorted gear that most people would drool over. The space is secure and has all the amenities one could ever want for a practice space- it's my house. We have an alarm system there too, so any gear you may have would be totally safe. It's a good neighborhood anyway... Schedules may be altered if the situation is right, but this works best for the two of us at the moment. Tuesdays are also possible.
We plan on doing 3-4 shows a month when ready. Most likely in Springfield, Northampton, Boston, Hartford, Providence, Portland, Keene areas...
A few of our influences would be: Sabbath, Zeppelin, Floyd, Electric Wizard, The Atomic Bitchwax, Clutch, Dead Meadow, Faith No More, Ben Harper, Pentagram, Flower Travelin Band, etc, etc... (I could go on forever)
Let me know what you think.
