Banjo player (three-finger Scruggs style) looking for a band or other musicians to play with! Interested in jamming, writing/composing, recording, and performing. Open to being a mainstay in your group or simply add my banjo sound to specific songs you're working on.
I am most proficient at banjo (22 years) but also play acoustic guitar and sing (lead or harmony). Also have an electric bass I can play decently well with good rhythm, and a cajon w/DI for percussion.
I first learned bluegrass on banjo but derived influence from Bela Fleck so now lean more progressive and enjoy playing many other genres as well: jazz, blues, folk, americana, newgrass, old country, world, jam band, rock, etc. If the timbre of the banjo sounds good with the other instruments involved, I've probably tried it! In a nutshell I'm a versatile banjo player. I've got a Deering Eagle II Acoustic/Electric 5-String Banjo with Kavanjo pickup system (humbucker pickup) that let's me amp up to play with a drum kit without feedback.
I equally enjoy jamming/writing original music and learning/playing cover songs, with end goal of recording or performing the music.
I'm open to a wide range of commitment from just for fun to playing gigs in Austin around 2 nights a week. If you have interest in adding banjo sound to any of your music please shoot me a message. I live in South Austin (78704).
