SEEKING
Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Violin, Trumpet, Keyboard, Piano, Background Singer, Cello.ABOUT
I'm a well-traveled multi-instrumentalist with two decades of experience in music and gigging. I've sang and played in numerous cover bands, spanning every genre of music, as well as all-original projects. Additionally, I perform acoustic shows as a solo artist or as a duo. I'm most experienced on guitar (both lead and rhythm), and I'm capable on piano and keyboard. I have a very musical ear and improvise well with other instrumentalists, but I also have a great memory for complex musical structure and arrangement.
Even though I've played every type of music, I'm partial to indie and alternative rock and pop. I prefer music that is accessible to the audience: strong vocals and harmonies that don't get buried in the mix, guitars and keyboards working together to create and support catchy melodies, and a rhythm section that drives the energy without overpowering the music. See my influences for a better understanding of my musical interests.
I'm looking to join or start a project with a strong emphasis on songwriting and collaboration. I'm fluent in musical theory and find joy in carefully-crafted musicality and arrangements, so I'm specifically looking for like-minded people that enjoy the writing process. My goals are to write enough material to record a professional-sounding demo, then regularly gig the area (and possibly beyond). I believe passion drives good music, so I'm willing to search for the right group of people who are driven, self-managed, and like-minded.
I treat music as a very serious hobby: I have a full-time job and a family, so I prefer to practice efficiently. I'm very easy-going, non-combative, professional, and responsible, and I expect the same in return. If you are interested in collaborating, please reach out to me at benshinrockmusic and share your experience, your musical passions, and your project ideas.
