Hello, internet musician. How are you? I'm doing great, thanks for following the social contract and returning the question that I asked you. Ok, now that we got over the initial social hump I can get into what I'm looking for and a bit about myself. I am not looking explicitly for a band or to gig currently but I do want to get togeather with musicians in order to create a jam group or just have a partner that could meet weekly. I find that jamming with my loop pedal, while fun, is just not the same as getting together with musicians. I want a jam group where people would share a bit of theory that they learned that week or would help one other with constructive critiques that way we all would have a place we could go to have meaningful conversations about our own playing and music in general. A bit about me and how I have learned what I know about music. I am self-taught, well be taught, and a music theory nut. I like how music theory allows for musical ideas to be easily communicated and can allow you to have a good jumping off point for coming up with a musical idea when it comes times to stop with the scales and get creative. And now that you have read all this I will finally tell you what I play. I have the most hours put in on guitar. However, I do also play bass, piano, and drums but not with near the same amount of confidence as guitar. Bass I can easily transpose the guitar scales I know to the bass fret board so it is my next best instrument. I have recently taken up the piano again, I took lessons as a kid but all I have retained is finger dexterity and the intro to one of my recital pieces. But do to my music theory studies I am able to compose musical ideas that match to what is in my head I'm just not well-versed enough to improv with it....yet....And drums I have been playing for a just like a month but I all I do with my drum kit is come up with beats to plug into my loop pedal, so if we get a jam group going and we want a certain style of drum beat to jam on top of I can come up with something that is, at the very least, in time.
