In 1964-65, as a teenager, played in The Roadrunners, a four-piece guitar band made up of overseas Air Force brats that featured songs by The Shadows, Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Zombies, etc.

In the late 60's and early 70's, during the heyday of the "M' Street and Dupont Circle scenes in DC area, played in various little-known groups such as the Night People, Leaves of Grass and Budgie. Also played with local heroes, Roy Buchanan and Danny Gatton several times.

Spent five years in Denver with the jazz-rock formation, Midnight Oil. 1976-1981, lived in Mendocino, Calif., played with the "Dirty Legs" band and the Hansen-Raitt Band, occasionally playing, jammming and recording with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Cat Mother, Gene Parsons and members of Santana, The Flying Burrito Bros. and the Grateful Dead.

In 1981, I began a 19-year stay in Berlin, Germany that would lead to touring, recording and literally hundreds of club dates as drummer with Saraba, a West-African rock group, country bands such as the Bismarck Bros. and Coast-to-Coast, as percussionist with soul diva Queen Yahna, Domingo, an 8-piece Salsa group and most recently with the Hot Nachos, an excellent "Grass'n'Roll" group. In 1985, I met my wife, Waltraud and our two sons, Robin and Raoul were born there.

In 2000, I joined the U.S. Foreign Service and was assigned to Bahrain and Romania. I'm presently serving a 3-year tour in Frankfurt, Germany
