I'm an experienced bassist (28 yo) who's looking for a couple more projects to round out his schedule... or a really good touring band to become a full-time gig. i know my stuff, the fundamentals, the feels, the pocket. i can learn songs quickly and i do my homework.
i can play country/bluegrass, bebop, soul, klezmer, classic rock, punk, latin jazz, funk, blues, new wave, hip-hop, disco, reggae, metal, afro-beat.
Some notes on my approach to the bass:
i prefer to play in a more restrained style that makes the ensemble work, rather than draws attention to the bass.
i like to think of the bass as though it were a percussion instrument rather than a guitar.
I like to improvise, but i prefer to find the perfect bassline first... that way you have the best possible starting point.
i like showmanship. i can dress and move to suit the style of music. too many people forget this important element.
looking for paid gigs only. open to working in any style or situation, can travel/tour. have a full rig.

some bassists that have influenced me are paul chambers, charles mingus, paul mccartney, john entwistle, rick danko (the band) james jamerson, john paul jones, chuck rainey, gary tibbs (roxy music), tina weymouth (talking heads), ben orr (the cars).
i play a fender p-bass with flats (old school sound dry, but i can make it cut through), and a laminate flatback upright. i also double on synths (dave smith prophet 08 anyone?), and can sing backups and leads.
