Want to either be in a band or start one, no country or pop country please, folk music is probably okay. Not for hobby, I want to gig and make money doing what I love most (currently in a hobby band and loving it, but hell and gone from playing as much as I need to). I don't give a f**k about your age, your musical influences (preferring to focus on RIGHT NOW and THE FUTURE), skin color/gender/worldview/blahblah, or if you have the 'right' brand name on your gear. What I give a $#!+ about: Your gear is gig capable (not just practice amps and stuff), you have reliable transpo, know the difference between practice and rehearsal, love making music, and are not addicted to heroin. Pot/alchohol is fine as long as you got it under control.
So...I want to do 2 things. 1 is get with another guitarist (electric and acoustic) who can do leads (I am not so hot there) and provide some vocal assistance, in order to thicken all this music I am writing. The idea would be to play quieter type venues, but not limited to if opportunity allows). 2 is play bass and/or rhythm guitar, could probably swing some backing vocals, in a band that likes to get loud and rock out. I don't mind playing covers, but don't want to be in a cover band. Punk-ish and sludge metal (think 'the Melvins' and you'll be close) is my main thing, but I also enjoy diversity in making music.
