ABOUT

Currently a solo musician (vocals, guitar, lyrics) looking to start a band. I am a professional scientist and at this point I am looking for having some fun playing and creating music with possibly playing local or regional gigs. I am also interested in recording at some point. Most of my poetry and lyrics do not have music written for them yet, probably because I feel they would be best written as a joint effort with a band. I am also interested in doing some dual lead vocals (either with male or female lead vocalists) because I think the harmonies and dynamics are very interesting. Send me an e-mail at jjradler()(.)com if you're interested.

Influences

All over the place... primarily The Ataris, Bad Religion, Eve6, From Dawn To Fall, The Forecast, Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, Joy Division, Third Eye Blind, The Pixies, (old) Green Day, Yellowcard, Death Cab For Cutie, Sugarcult, Dinosaur Jr., Cartel... the list continues. I always figured my vocals and playing sound like a fusion of Hot Water Music (instrumentally) and From Dawn To Fall (vocally).

EQUIPMENT

Two acoustics: Ibanez Artwood AW-40 with Martin medium strings, Fender F-5 Flattop Acoustic with Martin heavy acoustic strings. Two electrics (only one that works right now): Red 2003 Ibanez Artcore AFS785T with Elixir medium strings and an unidentified old Memphis Korean Strat-clone that needs new pickups and electronics. Marshall MG10CD practice amp (which sounds pretty great considering its small size). Considering upgrading my amp if we decide to start playing gigs. Also considering purchasing a USB premixer for recording. Shure SM58 microphone.
