While I have experience in playing several different genres of music, I love to play contemporary jazz music, funky jazz. I have been playing drums on and off my whole life. I was a professional musician in my young-adult years, but gave it up to pursue a more secure profession. Now I have returned to my passion for music and have been playing drums again for the past 15 years. I am a recent member of a classic rock cover band. However, the music style is limiting and I am seeking a group that plays contemporary jazz and jazz funk.

Influences
I started out playing rock music back in the classic rock era of the late 60's and early 70's, listening to Cream, Jimi Hendrix and Santana, and later Steely Dan. I also became a huge fan of fusion jazz and was heavily influenced by Billy Cobham. I was also influenced by the sophisticated funk style of Tower of Power and others of that genre. These day I play to the music of Joyce Cooling, Jeff Lorber, Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, Jeff Golub, Terje Lie, Brian Tarquin, Brian Culbertson, Russ Freeman and The Rippingtons, Fourplay and others.

EQUIPMENT
My drum kit is new and high end. It is makeup of Masters Series Pearl drums. Cymbals are new modern cymbal sets of Sabian HHX and AAX series, and Zildjian K-Custom cymbals. I also play Paiste's beautiful Formula 602 paper-thin crash cymbals. Drum Hardware include Pearl and Tama.
