This is my take on a very popular Smooth Jazz cut by Ronnie Laws. I fell in love with it and decided to cut it in the studio with an acoustic-electric guitar instead of sax. I look forward to performing this piece once we acquire a "Free Agent" that plays keyboards; for now this piece represents the 'take ownership' attitude of Brother Reggie & C-Note.

I love all kinds of music! I particularly find the Latin rhythms very interesting. This song was an attempt to go for a Contemporary Latin-Jazz feel.

For you keepers of the 'Old Skool' faith ... I took this old Marvin Gaye / Tammy Terrell cut and gave it a 'bedroom make-up after the argument' treatment ... sort of a Luther Vandrossian (can I say that?) accompaniment meets Peter White guitar styling. I really enjoy performing this live. Brother Reggie & C-Note will be getting with this one soon!

Alright you 'Old Skool' fam! Here's one for the slow-drag on the dance floor! I've always truly enjoyed Rene & Angela over the years. Angela Winbush (Howard University graduate ... Washington D.C.) is truly a gifted writer, composer, producer & performer. The one female artist I will never tire of listening to. Brother Reggie & C-Note will be bringing more of Angela's songs to the people. Her artistry is among the many old Adult Contemporary compositions that have garnered the distinction of being what we call 'baby-makin' songs ... don't act like you don't know!

This Woman's Work Track number: 9 Album: Exotica Genre: R&B

Maxwell has the voice of an Angel some will rightfully say. This will be a future addition for Brother Reggie & C-Note. I fell in love with this song after hearing Maxwell's treatment of this song originally written and performed by the British artist Kate Bush. The song was featured in the 1980s-90s movie "She's Having A Baby" starring Kevin Bacon as the young husband and expectant father. The song can be heard during the scene where he is asked to have a seat in the waiting area of the hospital while his wife fights for her (and the baby's) life on the operating room table. Kevin is reminiscing over the 'good times' they shared during this scene while Kate Bush's soft and lilting voice courses over the melodic and emotional musical backdrop / backing track. You'll have to see the movie ... I won't tell you how it turns out! Maxwell ... Kate Bush ... there's a web site dedicated to debate over which version is best. They're both great ... but I like mine too! I sincerely hope you will enjoy it when we bring it to the people!

This is a Contemporary Jazz cut I wrote about 'being there' for a college friend facing a struggle that I faced many years before, and making this friend the benefactor of my experience. The loss of a loved one is difficult at any time in one's life ... this is the loss of a Mother ... probably the most difficult next the loss of a child. This was a buddy back in my Cornell University college days (1973) ... he was excellent at Jazz on the acoustic baby grand ... I was more interested in Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzers and synthesizers. In this piece you will hear the baby grand piano and electric piano 'speak' to each other. Serious listeners only need apply here! All aside ... I hope everyone enjoys this piece ... it just happens to be a piece I wrote as a tribute to one of my best friends back in college Mike Ferguson ... an extraordinary musician and person to get to know. We were 'road dogs' and 'best buds' in every sense of the word back in those days ... my Brother from another Mother ... you know what I'm sayin'?
