NOTES: Due to my minimal recording setup, I would like to suggest using speakers or headphones that have better bass frequency response.
Audio has been recorded with an iPhone and a Mic made for iOS. The Mic is in front of the bass guitar amp and sound bar, at an angle. The subwoofer used with the sound bar is powered off. The intention was to put emphasis on the bass guitar over the playback of the original song.
OVERVIEW:
I have been playing the bass since 2007, and was in a cover band with friends for about 6 years. We played mainly just for fun, but we practiced regularly, and the band became tight, and our song list grew into multiple sets.
The songs we played covered multiple genres, as we all had our own tastes. Our female vocalist liked bands like Pat Benatar and Pink. Our acoustic guitar player liked bands like Lady A and Dave Loggins. Our lead guitar player liked bands like Evanescense, and Nickelback. Our drummer liked bands like Michael Jackson and Wild Cherry.
We eventually felt good enough about it to play at private parties. The band members have gone in different directions for various reasons, and now I'm looking to have a similar experience as I did with that cover band, and hopefully take it further to public gigs.
