I’m a Keyboard player/singer/songwriter, who recently moved from the Chicago-area to beautiful Greenville.
Currently playing with Kick.Snare.Crash. in/around GVL/AVL/TN as full band and duo. (Radio Room, New Brookland Tavern, Pulp, Inchoate Art, etc.)
In most of the bands that I’ve played in - I’ve been the main songwriter or co-songwriter, a lead singer and keyboard player. I currently have more than 40 songs “published” on Spotify, Apple Music, etc., with bands Too Much Saturn, The Vandalays & The Quick. I’m also a keyboard/vocal instructor at Music & Arts/Guitar Center in Greenville.
My overall philosophy is - if you’re doing original material, it’s gotta be melodic/hooky/energetic,(for me - mostly in the “powerpop” genre, although I’ve also played country rock, alternative & classic rock ). I also believe in “less is more” - knowing when NOT to play, in addition to when…

Influences mostly start from The Beatles to bands/artists like The Smithereens,The Cars, Superdrag, Gin Blossoms, 20/20, Old 97’s, Nada Surf, New Pornographers, Foo Fighters, Oasis and singer/songwriters like Pete Yorn, Rhett Miller, Elvis Costello, Ryan Adams, Jason Isbell, John Mellencamp, etc. For me - it really starts with well-written songs!

EQUIPMENT

My live keyboard rig consists of a Yamaha S-30 and a Yamaha MX-49, on an Ultimate keyboard stand. I usually go direct for amplification, but also have a Peavy keyboard amp. I also have studio gear that I usually write/demo songs on like an 8-track digital Fostex, mics, etc.
