Budget Explosion is a Brooklyn band rooted in Hard Bop/Soul Jazz but with some World Music rhythms. The band practices weekly in Brooklyn and will play out soon. BE is led by saxophonist John McQueeney as a side project to his band Combat Jazz (can be heard on Spotify, Apple Music, be.) John writes all the tunes (though there will be a few obscure covers.) I'm looking for talented musicians who want to stretch out and play a modern take on jazz with other great musicians. This is not a paid gig, but any gig money will be shared.
