ABOUT

I'm a self-taught bass player who dabbles in guitar/keys/percussion. I've played in bands for 9 of the 12 years I've been playing, and I was the "gear guy" for 2 of those bands, so I know a bit about recording and running a P.A. I sing and write songs, but I'm not so egotistical that I won't take feedback/tweaks (including let somebody else sing it-they're better). I have a demanding profession, so I'm only looking for a group to have fun with, trade off on song-writing, and maybe play some shows once we feel ready. In all the bands I was in, whenever we would try for funk, jazz, country, or metal it always fell into rock by the end of the songs - even in the band that was led by a trombone player. Still, I'm open to new styles, I do a lot of slapping, but only if the song requires it. I can work my way through tablature but I have forgotten how to read sheet music from my orchestra days - could probably learn it again quickly. Not interested in being in a cover band, but I don't mind playing the occasional cover.
