ABOUT

Singing and writing since my youth. Instruments came later.
Started fronting bands while at Kenyon College and University of Exeter, most notably after graduating when I co-founded The Providers, a bluesy rock act based out of Newtown performing mostly original material. Between 1994 and 2002 we recorded three albums and an EP, playing gigs all over CT with additional stops in NYC, OH, VT, and MA. Opened for, among others, They Might Be Giants, De La Soul, The Gravel Pit, The Slip, Ronnie Earl, John Mayall, Johnny Winter, The Radiators, NRBQ, Eight To The Bar, Sans Cherubs, and The John Lamb Band.
After taking a few years off to start a family and woodshed on guitar, I've been performing solo gigs for the past decade around the Brookfield/Danbury/New Milford area. I've also logged time as a member of Bridgewater's Roots Rock Revue and still get together with that gang every now and then. Eventually I'd like to hit the studio to record the original material I've compiled over the past few years. Affiliated with BMI. Up for co-writes (either long-distance or in person) and backing vocals/other stuff in the studio. On FB at guytinomusic. YT channel gjtino. ReverbNation and under Guy Tino.
