Band to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Drums, Bass Guitar, Vocalist.

ABOUT

I am a guitarist, have been playing since I was 8. I am looking for a bassist and drummer or a band that is looking for a Lead guitarist. I play every day and have done so pretty much my entire life. I was in a band when I was younger, now 39 years old. What I am looking for is a group of people who click musically and play because it’s what they love to do, not necessarily to form a band that will play to the public on a routine basis. Looking for people who love the type of music I love. I rarely play covers, but can. I write all the time, mainly instrumentals since I don’t have anyone else to work with.

I write and play every single day. Over the last month or so I've been thinking about finding some local people to get together with and develop a unique Hard Rock - Heavy Metal sound.

NOTE: I hope to get some samples up soon. As good as I am with a guitar, I am horrible with mixing software and hardware. I am using a software package called Reaper right now, and it is pretty darn cool. However, I am having problems with latency when laying down additional tracks. Hope to have it cleared up soon or maybe I have to get myself a more mainstream commercial product.

Influences

My influences are pretty broad. Here are a few;

Iron maiden: I grew up on Maiden and tend to lean towards Adrian Smith more then Dave Murray. Dave’s style seemed to stay pretty much the same whereas Adrian’s sound changed constantly (which is good).

Queensryche: This band really says it all for me. My daughter and I went to the Operation Mindcrime II concert last year in Boca and had a blast. That was the first I had seen them live in years.

Ozzy: Others, not me, have told me that my method / sound remind them of a mix of Wylde and Petrucci (DT). They are probably right with regard to Wylde, not sure about Petrucci though some methods are similar. Not quite as good as Petrucci though (of course / not close)

Dream Theater: I love this Band, always have. I think it’s more the broad range of composition than any one individual within this group. If you have seen them live you can probably appreciate how tight they are. Not to mention they all have their hands in a little of everything outside the band. I think this is very healthy for a musician.

Zeppelin: Not sure what there is to say. My father bought me a record player for my birthday when I was very young and one of the “records”, yea, “records” that he got me was LZ II (The other was a Queen Album, also an incredible Band). I was totally freaked out and informed my parents that I wanted a guitar when ever the next holiday came along. I got my first guitar for Christmas.

Queen: Freddy Mercury put more passion in what he did than almost any other artist I have ever seen or heard. It’s still hard to believe that he is gone along with so many other talents.
