The idea here is to recapture the sounds of pre 1980. Primarily the late 60's and earlier. Not an exact duplicate but showing obvious homage to the music of the past.
Think Derek Trucks. Primarily a rock and blues band but pulls influence from all over the world.
This is not to be a band focused on covers. This is for original material.
Sometimes a jam band but not always. There are times when 3:05 is just fine.
In order for this to work it needs to be the right personalities. Some of those old bands worked so well because they were, at least at the start, good friends. And that is the sound they made. Friends making music together. A joyful noise as they say.
