*************************************************************
I’ve been a bassist for over 40 years. I play with passion and conviction, and have been a solid and reliable asset to every group I've had the pleasure to work with. I can be a freight train, smooth as glass, or anything in between
I’m an ensemble player, and see my role as the guy who glues the whole thing together. I have great chops at my disposal, but am happiest just being the right kind of solid.
I have an affinity for niche and tribute bands. In the past many years, I went from a long stint in a classic prog tribute act, to a Country/Elvis band, to a modern/classic pop band, then an acoustic duet, a modern/classic dance band, and most recently with a Celtic Rock band. In spite of the different genres, I apply the same attention to detail, the same acute awareness of the individual players, and the same rock solid oneness with the drummer.
*********************************************************
I have a Bachelor's degree in music composition from Berklee, an inventive writing and interpretive style, a great ear, a killer sound, and I sing well. I read, write, arrange, transcribe, and am a quick learn. I double on acoustic guitar and mandolin, have been in a couple impressive female fronted acoustic duets, and am open to something like that as well. I have a pro rig, and reliable transportation.

Light of Winter
Light of Winter Year: 2018 Genre: Classical
This is a short piece for string orchestra: violin 1 & 2, viola, cello and double bass. It was first conceived as a simple ABA jig, written on my mandolin, and ended up getting a string treatment. I began orchestrating it just after the Winter solstice, on Christmas eve of 2017, looking to capture the spirit of the solstice, the return of the sun, the lengthening of the days and the promise of spring. Written in MuseScore and ProTools. Rendered for strings in Miroslav Philharmonik. A=432
