Music education and engineering background. Used to do a lot of gigs with various bands in the DFW area mostly playing drums, backup vocals, and some lead vocals. Picked up bass, guitar, and keyboards over the years along with dulcimers. Looking for dads or grandpas to practice with and do local gigs. I usually practice some instrument at least once a day. I'm good with once a week or less band practice as long as everyone practices on their own. I'm used to working from sheet music, tabs, chord sheets, and fake books. Also can do live sound engineering and live recording.

Influences
Probably everything but Hip Hop. Anything from jazz, blues, classic rock, country, bluegrass, and classical. Beatles, Pink Floyd, Doobie Brothers, Kansas, Foo Fighters, ZZ Top, BB King, Louie Bellson, Dave Brubeck, Lenard Skynard, The Band, Grand Funk, BTO, Yes, ELP, Blind Melon, Black Crowes, Boz Scaggs, and classical. It's almost easier to tell what I don't like, which is just screaming in a mic to thunderous chord progressions.

Percussion: Roland V-5 Studio Electronic drum kit, '63 Slingerland Jazz kit, various auxiliary percussion; Guitars: Yamaha (6 string) acoustic, Ibanez 6 string acoustic-electric (ALT-30), Ibanez 12 string acoustic electric (AW5412-ce), Stratocaster clone with Fender 57-61 pickups and electronics, IYV Les Paul Clone; Bass: Ibanez acoustic-electric mini bass (PNB14E), Ibanez SR305 5 string long scale bass; AMPs: Peavey Max100 bass amp, Fender Champion 50; Other gear TASCAM Pocketstudio DP-008EX, a couple of mics and cables. Just bought a 2,200 Watt PA, mixer, 2 way speaks, multiple mics, and stands. Willing to contract as live sound man with gear.
