I am interested in starting a combo project with an original music focus as well as an interpretive cover band in CT. Primarily based around a batch of original songs I just released. I would sing lead vocals and would play rhythm and some guitar leads. Looking for 4 other players ideally: rhythm/lead guitarist, bassist, drummer, and keyboardist. Background vocals would be very welcome.

I will post some of the new finished songs in the player, and I welcome comments!

Playing only original music in CT is a tough road. So my idea is to add popular cover songs, but with alternate arrangements that we work out to make them unique. Whereas most cover bands or tribute band would be trying to cover the songs exactly as recorded, we would be turning them into something different.
This approach has worked for other other bands on the East Coast; and it allows bands with the original music to get exposure in more clubs and venues.

Other writers welcome. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but I am very open to trying.

Influences

Grew up on 70s, 80s and 90s rock/alternative. Interested in many styles, and I am an experienced songwriter and producer. I was privileged to work several years alongside the great songwriter and producer Mike Chapman. He produced Blondie, Pat Benatar, Divinyls, HAIM, and so many others.

EQUIPMENT

Willing to offer my home as a practice space and I have a full complement of instruments, including drums, guitars, keyboards, PA, recording equipment. Well-stocked for equipment.
