TRIBAL RHYTHM TRANCE, an all-percussion drumming ensemble, is looking for an EXPERIENCED djembe player. Currently, the lineup includes the following instrumentation: kit, djun djuns, congas, timbales, and clave. We need a solid djembe player to round out the ensemble.

The trend in many European dance clubs is to dance to pure, raw, primal drumming. We want to continue that trend here in the States with a group of drummers who want to play steady gigs, have fun and make a little money doing so.

We are currently doing street performances and hope to be working in clubs very soon. There is an untapped market for this kind of thing, as everyone responds to rhythm but no one else has this kind of lineup.

AFRICAN, MIDDLE EASTERN, HIP HOP, LATIN, JAZZ, FUNK, ROCK, MARCHING BAND -- we blend it all together. This is not a traditional African ensemble but a fusion of all rhythms and styles. There is plenty of room for improvization, as there is minimal structure. The finished sound is something like funky, groovy, hypnotic, spacious, tribal trance rhythms that make people want to move.

Please only respond to this ad if you are EXPERIENCED on the djembe and know how to play traditional African rhythms. We need drummers who know how to communicate rythmically, musically, and dynamically with other drummers.
