ABOUT

I'm a singer. I love to co-write songs. I don't suck. Like a pro athlete who isn't on a team (band) right now, I need to keep my skills fresh and play the game, so I often help other artists and bands finish songs. I'm trying out for The Voice tv show in Austin in July, so I'm focused on that right now. Best case: I win. Worst case: I find more musicians to work with. It's a can't-lose situation. After The Voice, I will get an audio file up so you guys can hear my voice, unless I find myself in a project as a result of the show. I don't like driving all over town to check each other out (been there, done that) unless I hear an audio sample first. I need to hear something then see how I feel. Chemistry is king; either we have it or we don't. Nothing personal. If we have it, we need to work it so it produces good harvest time and time again. We don't need drugs to do it; we need exhilaration, which is what I want my audience to feel. Cool venues (not dives), great covers, and the creative songwriting process helps with this. I love belting it out, southern rock style, and I love some of the exhilarating contemporary Christian stuff that's out there. I'm looking for a group or person who wants to: a) get rock-solid on 20-30 cover songs that people love (not "like", but LOVE); b) perform at cool venues (not dives); c) write originals that sell (if they don't sell, they aren't good enough). We can sell our CDs/downloads and we can get our songs into the hands of some producers (I know a few, and maybe you do too). Selling songs is a great way to finance the musical dream, and I want to hear my songs on the air whether I'm doing them or not. John Hiatt has sold quite a few and is still gigging too! There are lots of gigging opportunities for a group/duo that can move a room of people, and good songs are always a hot commodity. Good luck to us all.
