ABOUT

I'm a family man. Got a wife and a couple of youngsters. Just moved back home to KY where i was born and raised. For the past 5 years I have lived in upstate NY. I built and led a house band for a local bar that won the title, in well known magazines and websites, of "Best Live Music Venue in The Adirondacks." We performed 3-4 nights a week every week all year. Once we helped the bar win the best live music venue by public votes, we retained it for 3 years until I recently just moved. We played a few parties and events outside of our home bar for a pretty penny. Our highest paid gig was $3,000. We played Covers mostly. But with our own twist on them. We took a slow song and sped it up and funk it up a little. We would take a country song and throw a sax solo in it. We just felt the music and went with it. I'm not much of a music theory guy or a technical player. But when the band is clicking on all cylinders, I get a feeling like no other inside of me and the only way to let it out is through singing and playing from the heart. After I moved to Home to Ky my great friend and sax player moved to Tennessee, the problem is that he is getting burned out driving 4 hours one way every Saturday. Our guitar play also moved to Ky and is currently playing with us again! Our band name is HOOCH. I'm blessed to have a steady job that gives me the freedom to perform every Saturday night! I'm honest as they come. Try to be humble. Like to cut up and have fun, and love to have a few beers when I play and sing. (never taking that too far) I've played with and am friends with Pee Wee Moore who is now touring with David Allen Coe. I've also played with JW Jones, a top guitarist and artist well known in Canada. I've shared the stage with a lot of great musicians. Some who've played and opened for BB King, some who have played with Brad Paisley amongst many more. I consider myself blessed for being able to play with those folks as well as become friends with the most of them. I’m here to find another sax player. On the dates that my friend that lives in Tennessee can make the gigs we will be sure to make enough money to pay both sax players. Cheers
