My name is Brian Shields, and I am drummer born and raised in Hampton Roads, Virginia. As most musicians in my area do, I grew up as a musician in church, and still continue to be an active church musician to this day. I have had the privilege and opportunity to play with numerous musicians both locally and abroad, as well as played multiple genres of music. Because of this, I consider myself a well-rounded musician. I have experience in both live and studio environments, and consider myself an artist’s drummer, meaning I play what the artist wants, and only add to it if asked or given creative freedom. I work very well with others, and take joy in meeting/working with new people.
