Melancholics is a veteran original coop of all star musicians based in Las Vegas. The sound is groove oriented all original pop with a jam band feel. Las Vegas City Life Magazine said of the band, "The melancholics specialize in dark, minor chord grooves that will make you shake your ass like in a goth themed Burning Man tent. Brawny musicians....this is crunchy granola."

Melancholics have a catalog of hundreds of songs, recorded on several studio self releases and compilations around the world, including one with platinum artists in the Philippines. They have performed hundreds of shows in Las Vegas and the West Coast, including an opening set for the Bare Naked Ladies 20th anniversary tour, and for the very first Moonalice concert ever. In 2016, the band sold out Smith Center's Cabaret for the release of the EP, More Than You Can Chew.
