I am a multi-instrumentalist (aren't we all?) with a degree in sound engineering, ten years of mixed experience playing in professional and semi-professional bands. In addition to performing, I spent much of my twenties working as a studio musician, engineer, or string arranger for bands in the Minneapolis hip hop scene.
I am primarily a bass player with a focus on creating grindy groovy basslines that create movement within a song. I can cover most styles of playing, with the exception of R&B and Funk...I will try but it will be a stretch. Someone recently described my playing style as being like if " Gezzer Butler (black sabbath) joined Mazzy Star or if Cliff Burton (Metallica) joined the Cure. I have tracks available.
After getting tired of the being a starving artist I left music for a decade to get a bunch of degrees in ecology/biology and to try to save a little bit of the world...so now that I am not starving anymore I would really like to find some musicians or a band to join.
I would prefer to join a group that is not all-male or preferably evenly mixed. After years in music, I am sick and tired of making music with people only to find out later they are toxic pieces of crap and would like to avoid this by not playing in an all-male band.
I would be very very open to playing and jamming with crazy any eclectic group of musicians...I guess what I am saying is unless you treat all people with the respect and dignity they deserve I don't want to make music with you.
