I play a lot of instruments but am ostensibly a social musician. I will play what is needed.
I wish I could find a group to jam with that included bringing my young kids along. I haven’t figured out how to continue my music hobby and raise kids. I hear this is a common challenge.
When I am not playing one instrument with a group, I revert back to guitar, ukelele, harmonica, and recorder with my kids.
My favorite instrument is trombone; I have been playing a long time. I played at my university scatter-band for 4 years, played in the Crab Grass Band at the local ball park for three years (://.crabgrassband/), and GM a once/year group called the Humboldt Firkin Tappers (HFT) that plays at a beer festival in my hometown (://firkintappers/). HFT is brass, woodwinds, & percussion. I also played baritone horn in a wind ensembles at another university. I played tuba and trombone throughout my formative years. I have good tone and can sight read when not out of practice.
