99 Brothers
99 Brothers Year: 2024 Album: Ashoka Genre: Progressive
The song unfolds with joyous and playful times among young Ashoka and his 100 brothers. From hunting to archery, the camaraderie is vividly painted. Yet, as envy and distrust creep in, fueled by the temptations of power and fame, Ashoka, burdened by constant health struggles, succumbs to hate. The throne becomes his ultimate passion, clouded by anger and ambition. This melody traces the tragic transformation from a brotherhood steeped in love to a blood-soaked path of power, that once adorned Ashoka's hands are replaced by the stain of his brothers' blood. Among all the brothers he ruthlessly kills, he spares life of only one who becomes a monk and swears to never come back. Thus the song title - 99 brothers.
