Shahar’s passion for bass began at a very young age. Growing up in Israel, Shahar learned piano and musical theory with several private instructors. For practice, he began to borrow a friend’s old bass guitar on what quickly became a weekly basis. Realizing how fascinated he was, a few of Shahar’s friends decided to buy him that very same bass guitar for his 17th birthday!
Shahar worked with various bands and performers in Israel, playing an array of styles and genres of music. He also attended jazz classes while studying for his Masters degree in Media.
Since moving to New York City in pursuit of his dreams of both an advertising and an international musical career, Shahar has performed in many of the city’s venues with his own band and various other musicians. Mercury Lounge, The Annex, The Bitter End, Canal Room and Arlene’s Grocery to name a few. Some notable musicians and groups he worked with include Eschaton, The Billy Webster Band, Bend, Yoav Erez, Supermajor and many more.
