Band to Join.ABOUT
I'm extremely passionate about music. I'm a song writer, and a flute player. I've been playing for about 14 years now. I've played with several bands including Baan caribe, Richmond Afrobeat Movement, and most recently I did a few gigs with a latin/caribbean band in Montreal.
lately, I've been getting into some serious latin music, bosa nova, and salsa styles. I my self am looking for an exceptional flamenco guitarist, they're especially rare to find.
I own a good variety of flutes, including the following:
1. Open hole Western C flute
2. Peruvian bone flute
3. a few celtic flutes
4. penny whistles
5. A well tuned clay flute (a gift made by a friend who has a degree in sculpture!)
6. South Indian Karnatic Sangeetam flute
7. North Indian Hindustani flute
8. Chinese Dizi, a membrane flute
9. Peruvian Sikus
Here is my experience with them, in descending order
1, 3, 7, 5, 8, 4, 2, 6, 9
I am most familiar with the Western C, I have been playing that for about 13 years since grade school.
However, I love the raw sound of a wooden flute, and I have fallen in love with the simplicity of it.
I am most defenitely willing to try strange and interesting things!
Currently I am trying to blend Celtic music with South Indian music, it's been going okay so far, but there are a few strange phrases that need to be worked out!
