Live in the Howell/Lakewood area. Work up in Eatontown area. I am pretty easy going, but have a drive to play, am dedicated, and like to move VERY fast. No ego. No drugs, no smoke, a couple of beers while I play is great.

I started guitar when I was about 12. I had a music background before guitar - trumpet, trombone, baritone, have taken several years of music theory classes (although I probably have forgotten more than I remember by this point). I switched over to bass in my late teens/early 20's. I am very solid, good grove, and can attack some fairly involved bass lines. I also can play keys. Definitely more Geddy type stuff, but I can also get through most of Bohemian Rhapsody on piano too. I am fine with being a straight ahead bass player, but if you wanted a utility person I can play that role too (maybe even as a rhythm guitarist/keyboardist).

Looking for walk-in or start up situation. For walk-in, everything does not have to be a perfect fit (setlist, personality, location, age, etc.) since I am willing to do without a perfect match for the benefit of playing out sooner. For a start up, I would really want to make sure I am getting together with the right people & right situation since it will hopefully be for the "long haul". But I move fast and would hope to be gigging in about 2-3 months MAX once all the positions are filled in.

Influences:

I guess the easiest way to get this across is just a list...Rush, Yes, Brother Cane, Fuel, Steve Morse, Alice in Chains, Zappa, Classical (Mozart and Vivaldi especially), Zep, Floyd, Tull, Seal, The Pretenders, Queensryche, Jellyfish, The The, Queen, etc., etc., etc. I could go on for quite a while. I guess the main point is that my musical tastes are pretty diverse. I like what I like regardless of what genre it gets stuffed into. So I am flexible. But my favorite genres are Prog Rock, Classic Rock (roughly mid 70's and on), Hard Rock and Mainstream Rock.
