Gramsci Melodic have already been named one of the Top-three "Rock Bands" in Pittsburgh (CP 12-08) and winners The Joker Productions Rock-Off (10-08) since coming together in 2007.
Gramsci Melodic is a musical chameleon. Gramsci has a "sound" that must be experienced to be understood. The music is the result of recording five musicians with vastly different musical backgrounds: an R&B keyboardist, a new wave guitarist, a jazz/fusion drummer, a prog-rock bassist, and an electro-rock synthesist.
The music has been described as being "out there," having "catchy hooks," exhibiting "pop-sensibility while creating something new," and displaying "a refreshingly original fusion of sound."
They are recording their self-titled debut album with Grammy Award-winning producers at Audible Images. They have opened for nationally-signed acts and headlined shows at mid-size venues (Diesel, Hard Rock, Altar, etc.) from Pittsburgh to Boston. Their demo- CD surpassed 5000 pressings without the backing of a record label or promotion company.
Gramsci Melodic’s live performances are a mix of catchy original material, unexpected covers, a dancing mascot with an over-sized green head, after-hours electronica, and ardently faithful fans.

Influences
The Talking Heads called New Order to record with The Killers, who were jamming with Weezer. Ok Go! showed up at the same studio with ELO and They Might Be Giants. The whole lot of them recorded a song together. It sounded like Gramsci Melodic.
