ABOUT

Experienced, former professional guitarist. Been playing since I was 9, that makes 51 years at this point in time. Spent several years on the road with: The Jamie Hoover Group out of Charlotte, Jamie is a nationally acclaimed musician/producer and the band Cirkus based out of Raleigh NC who was a hard rocking band that played the Eastern Seaboard in the late '70s to early '80s and was a major club draw during that period. More recently played with Mama Ruth's Kitchen, the Terry Flynn Band and the Rick Carter Project here in Atlanta. Just because there's no choice for this number, please note that I have played over 1,500 gigs over the years. I'm open to playing covers of pretty much any classic rock but no southern rock, please. Read that to mean "no Lynyrd Skynyrd" as there are seriously bad vibes associated with that. I'll tell you about that when we know each other a little better. :-)

EQUIPMENT

Several different guitars, primary are a '69 Gibson SG Custom, '94 Hamer Special FM. Amp is a Marshall Haze 15 stack. I have a '76 Marshall 50 watt head and 2x12 cabinet for larger dates. The Haze covers pretty much everything these days, though. Pedalboard currently has a Boss TU-3 tuner, Fulltone Fat Boost 2, BBS Sonic Stomp, and a Morley Bad Horsie Wah. Other available effects include Boss Compressor, Line 6 Rotary Simulator, Boss Flanger, Boss Distortion, and Boss DD-3 delay as well as a few others lurking about the house. I'm old school - don't use a lot of effects relying on killer tone through amp distortion, although I run the Fulltone and Sonic Stomp most of the time. Typically use this rig live but may use an amp modeler for rehearsals depending on availability of PA system to plug into.
