45 y/o bass player, 30 years experience, all the right gear (Ampeg/Fender) looking for a band that is interested in NOT sounding like all the other cover bands in the area. I can cover all the classic rock tunes, blues, R&B. I worked my butt off to get the gear that allows me to have "that" tone - the old school one a lot of us grew up on. I can play a lot of those killer licks (e.g. The Lemon Song, YYZ, The Real Me, etc). My biggest influences have been Grand Funk Railroad, Zeppelin, The Who, Yes, Robin Trower, Jeff Beck, Skynyrd, Cream, early Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, "pre-pop" ZZ Top (as in Fandango and Tres Hombres) and that genre.
I don't claim to be the all powerful chops monster...just a SOLID bass guitar player who knows how to find the groove and stay there.
I'm interested in finding an established group that is looking to gig regularly - like whenever we can!
Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Steely Dan, Robin Trower, Chicago, Grand Funk, ELP, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn...most blues, a lot of Motown stuff.
Fender Jazz Bass, Ken Smith v60j5, Takamine acoustic bass, Schroeder cabs, Ampeg head.
