Grew up around jazz. Never really got into it but I love to play R&B and Funk. Listened to Earth Wind and Fire and Michael McDonald when other kids my age were listening to Backstreet Boys. May not play the fanciest licks but I can be depended on to play solid, soulful, backbeat bass. On the other hand I can also play rythym guitar well. Not a lead player by any means but I can certainly lay a nice bed of sound down behind a vocalist or soloist.
