I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964 and knew immediately that I wanted to play the drums like Ringo Starr. Just out of high school in the mid 1970s, I did an emergency sit in with Blood Sweat & Tears. I have played in classic rock, blues, jazz, progressive fusion, and country bands.

My very early influences were Ringo Starr, Buddy Rich, and Gene Krupa; as a teen and young adult: Jeffrey Porcaro, Ian Paice and Tommy Aldridge. Current influences are Steve Smith, Mike Portnoy, Steve Gadd and Jeff “Tain” Watts.
