I've just picked up guitar again after a few years off but I've been playing pretty much all my life. My Dad plays guitar too so I grew up around it and am almost entirely self taught. My knowledge of theory is almost nonexistent but I have a good head for writing. I'm constantly thinking in terms of arrangement. You can shred all day but if you don't know how to put a song together no one will care. On the other hand the simplest melodies, when well arranged, will make heads explode. I have no aspirations of being a paid musician. Music is something I do to stop thinking about everything else. I just want to get together once a week and write some stuff that makes people want to headbang. Maybe play a gig or two.

EQUIPMENT
Just picked up a new Gibson V. I owned a couple 70's SGs when I was younger. I would have liked another one but they're waaaaay too expensive now. I just have a 30 watt Orange combo to play out of. It's loud enough for practice though. I was gonna wait until I found some other people to play with before I invested in a 50 watt tube.
