ABOUT

I grew up with music. My father was a accomplished harmonica player and 5 string banjo. He formed a country band and so my exposure to music was throughout m life. All my brother's and sisters played even cousins who formed an all women band and played the USO circuit for the troops.

I played in an assortment of bands. While attending the University I began attend the open mics around Chicago and eventually landed a job with the Guitarist for Houndog Taylor--Lefty Dizz. I played in his band with Johnny Big Moose Walker from Earl Hooker's band. WE played Kingston Mines and The Checkerboard that later became Buddy Guy's Legend and all the major clubs in and around Chicago. I left Chicago and after playing in various bands including an orchestra that did a variety act in southern Florida my brother and I formed a trio in Florida. We wrote some tunes and opened for the likes of U-2, Iggy Pop, 999 and was the backing band for Bo Diddly. After the loss of our bass player during recording sessions in Los Angeles we began to use the trucks, equipment and lighting to produce shows for other bands and eventually opened a recording and film studio that did live streaming.

I have played most musical styles from Classic Rock, Disco, Blues, R&B, Country, Punk, Grunge, Alternative, and modern pop and dance.

Influences

Really love all genres and music from every era. I like the simplicity of punk and the minimalism of pop. I am especially interested in production of songs such as grunge and new metal. I love the feels of the early pioneers in rock and roll, funk and R&B--from Ray Charles and Little Richard to James Brown. I am passionate about the groove and the feel and tempo.

EQUIPMENT

I own a four tom Pearl kit and a Gretch 5 tom kit. I have a portable drum riser and a wide assortment of cymbals and snares in a variety of mics. I own drum triggers, pads and a TD-20 Roland E-kit, monitors, etc. Just got a Roland TD-12 to trigger a hybrid of nick pedals and sound effects.
