ABOUT

FIRST, Why can I only pick 3 genres? I should like to include Country, and Classic Rock, And WTF is lounge music? Don't that depend on the joint? But seriously folks:

Old Dog guitar player, singer/songwriter. Looking to put an act/band together, or join a working rock-n-blues band. I'm very serious about getting back to working on stage, but it's gotta be fun first. I'm easy like Sunday Morning, but I have no time, or patience, for assholism, or egomaniacs. If your looking for an A-type, who will doggedly cover a song note for note, I ain't the one. Well, except vocally 'cause I just tends to sing it how I hears it. But being the creative type, straight-up imitation has never been my thing.
While the goal is a solid working band, I'm also interested in finding another very good picker and start it with, kind of an UN-plugged, but rocking, act, and quickly build from there. I have a pro drummer lined up. I'm new here, and don't know how well the contact thing will work yet. So, if I have to come here to see messages everyday, or if you didn't pay the vig, ScreamingSigns at aol, gets me all day. You know it's a DotCom, right? 917498 5281 Works too!

Influences

Strong southern rock, and blues--more Delta kind'a Blues than Chicago. Skynyrd, Alman bros, Johnny Winter, Lonesome George, Mr. Robert Johnson, Mr. Muddy Waters, Mr.Son House, Mssrs. Wolf, Dixon, etc., Doors, SRV, Them Bearded guys from Texas. The Band, Humble Pie, you get the idea. Country friendly, but the Hank, Merle and Waylon kind, not the pretty-boy crap they're mostly playing now. Oh, and my own own catalog. Sorry, no 80's hair band stuff--wait, I'm not sorry at all. I almost did a wedding band once, but the drugs wore-off--Them days are long gone.
In summary: sh*t-kickin' foot stompin' beer drinkin' party-down music--with some pretty stuff thrown in the mix for balance, and the ladies.

EQUIPMENT

1976 Kasuga Les Paul, 2001 Gibson J-185-CE, Fender FR50CE--Dobrotype resonator, 2003 Gretch G5120 set up for slide, an old Fender La Brea-CE. And an old Epiphone Hummingbird, I keep around for fishin' trips, an such. I have a small Marshal Amp, and an ancient Pignose, but I can buy what ever Amp I want, when I decide I need it. And, Oh, I'm trying to convince the 'Ole Lady, that I need a "new" Les Paul--Please HELP!
